I plan on connecting it directly to a DAC with no preamp, that is why I am installing the volume pot.

I know why you put it on, I'm just saying it's not recommended.

This gives a better sound than that ALPS. There is also a more expensive version with higher quality resistors, but I have not tried it.

Does this meet with your approval? Smile

"Are you guys interested in seeing how this Canadian amateur does the mechanical work on his amplifier or am I wasting server space?"

We are very interested Smile

Oh yes of course.  Big Grin
That rotary switch pot looks really good. Can I have a link to see the price?

Well, it's not expensive. I just don't like those chandelier clamps. Why don't they just leave the solder pins?  Huh

What should the values be?

Standard values for Zobell NET, as follows:

Use 1mm CuL (classic enamelled copper wire) wound around AAA battery (DIA = 10mm),
wound a single layer coil with 10 of the turns appro. 10mm in coil length,
then place a 10R 2W resistor in the middle of the coil, but it must not touch the wire of the coil.

The Air coil is such appro. 0,9...1,0uH // 10R in value!

Onto this little PCB I have ten wraps of 1mm magnet wire around an AAA battery with a 10 ohm 3 watt resistor inside of it, parallel off the end of it to ground I have a Vishay 0.1uf 250VDC poly film cap and another 10 ohm 3 watt resistor.

(not soldered yet, waiting input that this looks alright)

Output will come from amp board, to speaker protect, to output inductor/resistor on little board to positive speaker output terminal.

Ground from speaker output terminal, to negative of zobel, to ground of PSU.

Does this look good or a mess?

Thank you, David.
